A Hand Up for the Holidays

"After I became disabled I had a hard time living on disability. My wife and I relied on Davis Street to help make ends meet when our disability checks couldn't go far enough. We have been raising my three grandchildren for many years now.

When my wife died and suddenly near Christmas time I was devastated. I had no money for the funeral let alone gifts for the grandkids. Adults can understand when Christmas has to take a back seat to life, but kids don't.

The Davis Street staff came through to me during the most difficult time in my life and gave presents and a great dinner to the kids. We are now on the road to recovery, having a place to live and way to support ourselves"   - Dale, Past client and Vietnam Veteran

Friends...

As Dale described, it is so challenging to keep holiday spirits aloft while facing the financial burdens and circumstances our families face. Davis Street is here to pitch in some extra holiday support when families need it most. We can only do this with the cooperation of our community, so we humbly invite you to participate in Davis Street's Holiday Food & Toy Basket Program, our annual tradition of giving in the Eden Area.

YES!!! Every year a collection of 200  businesses, local clubs, faith groups, homeowner associations, and clubs host drives that allow this program to happen. We drop off and pick up our own collection bins to these partners. To host a food and toy drive, please e-mail mmusgrove@davisstreet.org with your address, how many collection bins you would like, and a contact name and phone number. Every bit of help makes a difference! Click here for our HOLIDAY FLYER. It will tell you what exactly we're looking for!
