The mission of Davis Street is to improve health, address poverty and increase the overall quality of life of residents in the Eden Area.
We accomplish our mission by providing strategic assistance through a variety of integrated services that identify, focus, and build on our clients’ natural strengths.
Each component of Davis Street has further defined its mission as illustrated in their program outline.
We envision a community that comes together to support our efforts to help disenfranchised people with services designed to help improve their quality of life.
DS offers a holistic safety net, providing an array of integrated services that help clients navigate their journey to financial, physical and mental well-being.
In serving all member of our community, DS is committed to being responsive to, and respectful of, the various cultural and linguistic needs of our clients, staff and volunteers.
In an age where numbers often measures success, DS has strengthened its commitment to serve each client well, even if it means serving fewer people. DS is committed to continuously meeting the changing needs of clients by fine-tuning and improving the delivery of services. We will conduct personal and professional relationships with awareness that, by agreeing to participate in the fulfillment of the organization’s mission, we assume responsibility for the honor of the Davis Street community both internally and in the external world.
DS services were created to be “user-friendly” in terms of geography, hours of operation, language and culturally accessibility.
As an active member of the community, DS encourages all member of the community to participate in its programs. We recognize that within the organization each person takes part in a social contract that assumes the fair, responsive, straightforward, and courteous communication and behavior that persons of good will and mutual trust may expect from one another. We will accomplish the above as we encourage our clients to become responsible citizens who will affect positive change in their own communities and work environments.
In order to achieve the DS Mission and implement its programs effectively, it is imperative that staff is treated with the same care, respect and inclusion as the clients. Each staff member has the responsibility and accountability to respond to clients needs.
The clients we serve determine what success is to them. We feel a sense of urgency on matters related to the clients we serve. We strive to be responsive. We are client driven.
