Lead Physician

Under the direct supervision of the Chief Medical Officer, Physician Lead must be committed to providing comprehensive primary care to those who are the most vulnerable population in a Federally Qualified Health Center as well as other community members, and committed to meeting the goals of providing quality care and promoting the safety of patients by following the standards of care of the American Board of Family Medicine, CDC, HRSA, HEDIS and other set standards.


  • Provide comprehensive primary care to adults and children with a family practice and integrative understanding of patient centered medical home, i.e. integration with behavioral health and dental health care.
  • Supervise and provide clinical support and leadership for physicians and nurse practitioners. Leads efforts to improve and assure quality following all the Family Practice, HRSA, OSHA, HIPAA, and CDC standards of care to guarantee patient safety and access to care.
  • Participates with Clinic Leadership Team in clinic strategic planning. Setting and measuring SMART goals for all clinic staff.
  • Peer review coordination bimonthly.
  • Provides support for team development by encouraging trust, engagement, safety for conflict resolution, and promoting accountability among provider team members.
  • Calculates and monitors data analytics to drive innovation and growth so that quality improvement and assurance, which includes productivity and health equity along with other clinical priorities, are promoted.
  • Provider evaluations quarterly.
  • Serve on the quality Improvement and quality assurance efforts.
  • Other duties as assigned.



  • Board Certified in Family Medicine, California State Current License, Current DEA license
  • 3 or more years of experience practicing the full scope of Family Medicine: Adults, Children, Women’s Health (OBGYN)
  • Excellent communication skills. Spanish-speaking preferred
  • Experience working with underserved and vulnerable populations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others including patients and staff from different departments and the community.
  • Proficiency in EHR, computer skills, excellent communication and leadership skills and experience.
  • Computer and data management proficiency with Window or IOS operating systems. Quality improvement and quality assurance lead.
  • BLS Certified. PALS certification also helpful.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in working in a FQHC setting strongly preferred.
  • The ability to work cooperatively with others in a team-based healthcare setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal, listening, and oral and written communication skills.
