Job Description

Financial Analyst will analyze fiscal and program data to identify, review and evaluate revenue and expenditures for each program and government contracts through ongoing monitoring of contracts terms and compliance. The role works with departmental staff to support management of funding, in addition to perform trend analysis, and supporting CFO in forecasting and budgeting activities. The Financial Analyst must be detail-oriented, thrive in an autonomous and deadline-oriented workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze new and existing Children Services contracts to ensure revenue are recognized through appropriate tracking of activity.
  • Develop Contracts/ Grant tracking tools to analyze and monitor compliance with program criteria.
  • Work with department heads to perform variance analysis of actuals to forecast and budget, investigate, and explain any major discrepancies, and provide insightful actionable recommendations.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual analytics reports.
  • Create financial models for specific projects or scenarios to facilitate operational and strategic decision-making
  • Develop KPIs, productivity metrics, process automation and improve efficiency.
  • Build databases and complex spreadsheets to perform detailed financial and statistical computations, interpret analyses and develop recommendations to CFO.
  • Assist CFO in developing forecasting and budgeting assumptions which include revenue, payroll, and expenditures.
  • Collaborate with accounting in month-end and year-end closing with analysis for various functional areas including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses, taxes, accounts payable, accrued liabilities, vendor setup and review.
  • Participate in annual financial audit, single audit and various government program audits.
  • Independently lead and perform ad-hoc analysis as assigned and needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 2 years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting or data analytics
  • Experience with computerized information systems and other software programs required
  • Knowledge of accounting, forecasting, budgeting, grant tracking, and financial analysis.
  • Experience with auditing financial statements and documents
  • Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office, including very strong Excel skills
  • Experience with health industry and government contracts/grants are helpful
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-multi-tasking environment
  • Demonstrate level of knowledge and understanding of GAAP
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to perform tasks and responsibilities in a complete and timely manner while complying with agency policies and standards.
