Job Description

Community non-profit organization is seeking a highly experienced Facilities & Janitorial Technician to support daily operations across multiple facilities. This hands-on role involves a wide range of responsibilities, including maintenance and repairs of HVAC, lighting, basic electrical work, low voltage cabling, plumbing, general repairs, janitorial duties, and safety checks. Reliable vehicle needed for travel between locations in San Leandro.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs including mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, low voltage cable work, carpentry, painting, and general upkeep.
  • Conduct daily janitorial and stocking tasks for restrooms, kitchens, common areas, exterior walkways, and parking lots.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot office equipment, perform minor repairs, and assist with office/furniture moves and installations.
  • Use a work order system to track tasks, communicate updates, and assist with building safety systems and supply inventory management.

Requirements

  • 2 years’ experience in facilities maintenance.
  • Must have a reliable vehicle, a valid driver’s license, and current car insurance.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks & projects.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, customer service, and time management skills, with the ability to follow through on tasks effectively.
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and maintenance tracking systems)
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs., move around the facility continuously, and work comfortably on ladders, roofs, and in various conditions (extreme temperatures, cramped spaces, noise, etc.)
