Associate Therapist (AMFT, ACSW, APCC)

Job Description

Join our growing behavioral health team in our community clinic! The Associate Therapist will provide a broad spectrum of clinical services including but not limited to intake and eligibility, therapy, coordination of behavioral health services for consumers, consultation, case management, community outreach, psychological assessments, clinical supervision, and in-service trainings.

Responsibilities

  • Makes psychological evaluations of assigned cases; determines appropriate diagnostic procedures and tests to be used; clinical interviews with clients and other interested persons to develop information pertinent to diagnosis and treatment.
  • Meets with clients for regular therapeutic interviews; guides the client in understanding his/her illness and contributing personal, social, and economic factors; assists patients in developing realistic plans; advises clients on community resources; and makes referrals and other arrangements as necessary.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary treatment planning
  • Provides in-service training to Primary Care Clinic staff and trainees as appropriate
  • Participates in agency-wide training programs and in-services.
  • Documents in the medical record according to requirements of regulatory agencies.
  • Submits service activity logs, weekly and monthly schedules, time sheets and mileage to the Behavioral Health Manager
  • Maintains accurate and timely records of services provided to each patient in the medical record according to requirements of regulatory agencies
  • Collaborates with other departments and agencies related to client treatment planning
  • Participates in quality improvement committees and other agency meetings as requested
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Master of Social Work, Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology or Doctorate degree from an accredited university
  • Current AMFT, ACSW, or APCC required
  • Must be registered with the Board of Behavioral Sciences or Board of Psychology (or able to show proof of pending application); must be eligible for licensure via the BOP or BBS.
  • Bilingual: Spanish/English [Nice to have]
  • 2 years direct client experience [Nice to have]
  • Current CPR/BLS certification
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients and staff.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and Interpersonal skills
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office [Word/Excel/Outlook]
