Davis Street has been selected
2023 California Nonprofit of the Year
Davis Street has been selected by State Assemblywoman Liz Ortega as the 2023 Non-Profit of the Year for California Assembly District 20!! We are being honored for our outstanding contributions to the work we do in the San Leandro, San Lorenzo, Ashland, and Eden areas.
Throughout our fifty-one year history, we, at Davis Street have responded to the needs of the Eden Area’s most vulnerable families. By providing services that allow families to survive and flourish, Davis Street has been a leader in guiding its client-families out of poverty and into productive lives.
With a service matrix that includes subsidized child care, medical care, dental care, mental health supportive services, family and domestic abuse counseling, emergency food, clothing, housing and utilities assistance; as well as programming to support adults living with disabilities, Davis Street is one of the few multi-service centers that operates in the San Francisco Bay Area.
The central vision of Davis Street is to help low-income members of our community improve their quality-of-life through short- and long-term assistance. We do this by providing strategic assistance through a variety of integrated services that identify, focus and build on our clients’ strengths.
Davis Street provided more than 85,000 service visits in 2022. We work closely with county offices, schools, human services agencies, and multiple cultural organizations based in the local area. We provide referrals to other agencies, when necessary, and accept those referred to us, particularly to our food support, parenting and to the Primary Care Health Center.
We are honored to be the recipient of the 20th District’s 2023 Non-Profit of the Year.
