Independent Living Program

We believe that every person we work with is capable to have the skills to succeed in life.

About our Independent Living Program

Davis Street Independent Living Program helps adults living with intellectual and developmental disabilities learn the skills they need to live more independently. Our clients may live on their own, with their family, or in an adult residential facility. We believe that every person we work with is unique. Our instructors work one-to-one with each individual, helping them develop the life skills they need. Our assistance changes over time, as the individual’s needs change.

Our training and support may include any of the following areas and more:

Managing money
Shopping for groceries
Cooking
Finding a place to live
Safety and emergency preparation
Home hygiene
Setting up medical appointments
Getting to and from work and other appointments
Filling out subsidized housing paperwork
Applying for Social Security, Medi-Cal and other programs
To enroll in any of the Davis Street Developmental Disabilities programs, you must be eligible through the The Regional Center of the East Bay (RCEB).
