Job Description

The Behavioral Health Manager reports to the Director of Behavioral Health and Counseling, and is responsible for the supervision of behavioral health staff, conducting psychosocial assessment, providing individual and group psychotherapy, case management/coordination with medical providers, department administrative tasks and coordinating a substance abuse treatment program.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of 2-3 therapists, and perform recruiting, training and staff evaluations as needed.
  • Lead and promote growth of the Behavioral Health department and staff in areas of leadership, clinical excellence, patient-centered care, education, and organizational involvement.
  • Provide mental health screenings and initial assessments to medically referred and other clients.
  • Provide short-term, evidence‐based psychotherapy services to patients, including individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, and coordination of treatment for participants with co‐occurring disorders.
  • Coordinate and implement substance abuse treatment programs, which includes group and individual treatment modalities.
  • Treat patients with a variety of clinical needs, including depression, anxiety, psychological stress, trauma, marriage and family dysfunction and substance use.
  • Collaborate with primary care providers to improve health outcomes.
  • Facilitate referrals to other services (e.g. substance use treatment, specialty care and community resources) as needed.
  • Work to meet patient needs effectively and resolve individual barriers through follow‐up, advocacy and collaboration with Davis Street staff and other community service providers.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of activities, case management notes, and services provided to each client, including timely and safe discharge plans following Davis Street guidelines.
  • Participate in staff meetings, peer reviews and other required trainings.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate billing practices to support maximizing financial performance in multiple settings and licensure.
  • Other duties as assigned to support the mission of Davis Street.

Requirements

  • LCSW, LMFT or LPCC, Psychologist or related California license
  • 2 years experience as a licensed provider with direct client treatment
  • Experience in substance abuse treatment is a plus
  • Current CPR/BLS certification
  • Ability to coach and supervise staff
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to details and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
  • Excellent work habits: punctual, reliable, cooperative, team player
  • Interest or experience with multicultural individuals and groups
  • Computer proficiency using including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and EHR systems
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Davis Street
