This January, the Davis Street family unexpectedly lost an incredible friend, Donna Murray. Donna Murray was a cheerful and beyond dedicated volunteer in Davis Street's food and clothing assistance programs. She saw and helped thousands throughout her many many years here. Her smile and kindness for others could light up the room. Below is a testimonial she gave in 2006 about her own experience with Davis Street. What an inspiration she is and will continue to be to us all. Rest in Peace, Donna.

Hi, my name is Donna Murray; I am disabled and a volunteer in the Clothing Department here at Davis Street Family Resource Center. I originally started coming here to get help with food and eventually started volunteering in the Clothing Department. I work with Emile Awwad who is the Food and Clothing Manager/Volunteer Coordinator, and he has been a tremendous source of information and support. I am inspired by his kindness that he shows to everyone that comes here for assistance.
DSFRC has helped me with food and clothing. I have recently become homeless and they helped me get into a shelter where the people there are helping me find housing. I also am in dire need of dental assistance and have been coming here to the dentist who is getting me new teeth.
DSFRC has restored my faith and showed me that there really is still good in the world. I am so grateful to everyone here that has guided and worked with me on available resources to get the assistance I need to get my life back in order. I hope by volunteering here I can at least contribute something in return for all the kindness and support I have been shown.
