Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY We're looking for a compassionate and organized Program Manager to lead our team of Specialists supporting families in the CalWORKs program. This role is a blend of people management, program oversight, and ensuring day-to-day operations run smoothly. Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support a team of Specialist, including coaching, training, evaluations, and managing payroll and time study reports.
  • Set and track goals for staff to align with program and organizational objectives.
  • Oversee family enrollment, recertification, and data collection for CalWORKs and Subsidy programs.
  • Ensure compliance in case file reviews, operational procedures, and written materials for both staff and families.
  • Respond to suspected fraud concerns and coordinate family transfers between agencies.
  • Assist with resolving complex parent or provider case issues in a timely and respectful manner.
  • Communicate and coordinate with county childcare agencies (APPs and R&Rs) and represent our program in meetings and training.
  • Implement systems to ensure the timely completion of team tasks and department goals.
  • Attend and contribute to monthly staff meetings and relevant professional development activities.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A.A. degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 3 years of experience working with diverse communities in a human services agency.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience, including program leadership and overseeing a team of adult staff members.
  • Strong communications skills, both written and verbal.
  • Spanish bilingual is a plus.
  • Ability to hire, train and coach staff effectively.
  • Able to build and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues, management, and the community.
  • Skilled in planning and executing program strategies.
  • Demonstrated strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to adapt to changes.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Access, Excel, Outlook, and familiar with efficient office procedures.
  • Reliable transportation for occasional work-related meetings and events
