Job Description
The Women's Health Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing Women's Health care services within the primary care clinic, including prenatal and postpartum care, medical diagnosis, gynecological care, medical treatment, medical follow up care, health promotion and disease prevention, medical consultation, and medical referrals.
Responsibilities
- Perform medical care services and Women's Health services.
- Prescribe medications and treatments, as necessary, based on medical diagnosis.
- Develop a positive rapport with patients and families to maintain a positive patient relationship.
- Work independently and collaborate with a team to deliver quality patient care services.
- Communicate and provide medical leadership to clinical staff, as needed.
- Refers patients to hospitals, as necessary, and provides follow up care as appropriate.
- Maintains accurate, timely, and up-to-date medical records and charts.
- Work with a culturally diverse patient population in a clinic setting.
- Attends clinic and other meetings as required.
- General gynecological care, including Pap Smear.
- IUD/Nexplanon insertion and removal, STD Testing, and other treatment and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Current California Nurse Practitioner license with Women's Health training required
- DEA license and CPR/BLS
- Experience/training providing Women's Health care
- Proficient using Microsoft office and Electronic Health Record programs
- Ability to work with a diverse population
- Commitment to the mission and values of Davis Street
